I got a 72 gallon tank from a friend and had to store it over at a friend's house for a few months until i could move it....when I finally did move it i realized there is aiptasia everywhere!!! he must not have known about these pesky anemones... anyways--i'm not talking like the small little newbie aiptasia--its like hardcore, BIG aiptasia and i need to get rid of it asap!! i bought some stuff to kill it but you can only do so much of it every day....is there any way to just pluck them off or anything??

    I appreciate your help!!!

wow, that is a lot. DONT try to manually remove them, this will make it worse. i would do what you can with aiptasiaX or Joes juice, and maybe buy a few peppermint shrimp to help. if they are mostly on a rock or two, you could nuke those rocks, otherwise i dunno.... good luck

no they are reef safe, just ensure that they are true pepperments, there is another kind of shrimp that looks like them but picks at corals. i wouldnt rely on the peppermints to SOLVE the problem, but they can help.

Yeah, don't over kill on the "juice". Do a section one day and another the next. I put my heavily populated aptasia rocks in the peppermint tank and they wipe it clean by morning... then I swap out the rocks.
I mixed 1 part calcium and 1 part lemon juice to 2 parts tank water and that was more inexpensive then juice when cleaning other people's tanks. The extra bit I squirt in the sump as a calcium suppliment.
    Good luck!

depending on ur tank situation & what you wanna go w/ maybe a copperband butterfly...feed on the regularly and make sure your water parameters are right if you go that route...if not try a group of peppermint shrimp if there is nothing in the tank that will pick on 'em...but if u wanna try getting rid of 'em urself I would try Aiptasia-X. Worked well for me and didnt have any problems even doing a heavy dosing w/ corals in the tank...but it is hard 2 remove all of 'em w/ a remedy so I'd try the copperband or the shrimp....i'm thinkin about getting a copperband for my other tank...had one before and worked great but that was a while back

I was individually treating with Joe's Juice, which works great, but then I got 3 peppermint shrimp and haven't seen an apitasia since. Good luck!
