I have looked on the live rock hitch hiker guide and this is what i have come up with. Just getting some reassurance here.

I believe that i have aiptasia on my coral that i got today. I did not notice it during the day, only at night with a red light did i see it and when i turn on a light it goes back into hiding. Also i have a couple of worms on the rock that i cant id with this guide. They seem to be two toned black and clear if this helps

Edit: upon further watching there is also a clear worm that looks like a tube that seems to be munching on my zoas :-(

Bristle worm, my tank is loaded with them. Not a big deal.

And the apt just zap it with kalk paste right away and you'll be fine.

Aptasia doesn't "go back into hiding" when lights come on. Also, looks more like a baby serpent or brittle star.

Got a better picture of it, it seems to be attached to the rock. Also the clear worm seems to stretch very far

    Much better pic. :)

Appears to be a Boloceroides, or maybe a Lebrunia. Both are nuisance nems however, same as aiptasia. As for the worm, I really can't tell. Looked like a harmless bristle worm in the first pic.

There are 2 types of worms i looked up bristle worms, and the first picture is a bristle worm. The 2nd pic is of a diffrent worm it seems to be clear only no features on it looks like a long stretchy tube. Either way i think i will be pulling this rock out of my tank tomorrow and ripping it apart its very thin so it should not be to hard to break and parting out what i want to keep from it and scrap the rest. The anemone in question is in a part that i think i can chip out.

quick question, not to be an a#$ or anything like it ... but if you did a coral dip before putting them into the system would that have taken care of the problem? i never done a c roal dip before and I been wondering...

do not kill the worms, they are good... the tubular worm may be a peanut worm (do a google image search). These and bristle worms are especially good as detrivores in your tank. As for the nems, you have what looks like aiptasia and possibly a majano in that last pic. You will want to kill these off because they can become pests...

Now, a word of warning... I don't know what kind of zoanthids those are, but some types have palytoxin, which can kill YOU or make you VERY ill even in the smallest of doses. If you go ripping that rock apart, you could release the toxins, which you don't want to touch let alone accidentally ingest or get near an open wound... this can happen easier than you think and has sent some reefers to the hospital and has been known to kill pets as well.

If I were you, I'd take it easy, do some more reading and research, kill the bad nems safely, and leave the worms alone... ;)

Coral dips are not meant to kill worms or pest anemones.

+1 Those nems aren't gonna multiply over night.

I didn't know zoas could be so dangerous though! Thanks for that pearl of wisdom.
