    Hi there,

So my tank has been running for a little over 2 months. I've always had aiptasia in my tank, and i've tried various different things to get rid of them, but they just wont dissapear! I've tried using lemon juice, but in a small nano tank like mine, it will often lead to pH problems and that will lead to fish parasites and bad stuff. So i've lost alot of fish because of that, and luckily i knew what i did wrong. Luckily, none of my corals has taken ANY damage. For a matter of fact, they have shown incredible growth rates and coloration. However, i want to keep these corals alive still, since they are growing so well, and have adapted perfectly to my reef system. So i want to get rid of these aiptasia! I do not want to use any chemicals, since it might just hurt my nano system. I've tried peppermint shrimps, but they wont work. I've literally bought so many peppermint shrimps, and they just wont do anything. I've thought about getting an aiptasia eating filefish, but he might hurt my scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp and also he will rip apart my lps colonies. I just dont know what to do anymore, i'm slowly starting to hate my tank more and more, since they just grow like crazy. Please help!

Would be awesome if i lived in the US :( But i live in Denmark, Europe. I have seen a danish website who sells berghia nudibranches, but is 42$ overpriced for one bergia nudibranch? I personally thinks its pretty expensive, but if they will get the job done i will buy them. I dont want to pay to much for them :)

I find it strange the peppermint shrimp are not doing the job, usually they will not take on large aiptasia though. Are you sure you are not being sold Camel shrimp which look almost identical to Peppermint shrimp?

The simple solution is: You have a small tank, get new dry rock, cycle it in a separate container and replace all your rock work, or you can ignore my advice until you finally get so frustrated you leave the hobby.

Also if any aiptasia spring up, kalk paste mixed thick is your friend and aiptasia enemy.

Yes, i know for sure that they didnt sell me camel shrimp. Since they look entirely different, and i actually find them pretty easy to identify. However, the problem with peppermint shrimps, are that its not all of them that eat aiptasia, only some few does. Mine have never touched them, rather they are more afraid of them than anything :( However, they sit on the glass and pick up copepods, and they are really beautiful so i'll keep them for now as a little scavenger for my clean up crew :)

Yeah, the dry rock would be a great way to stop it, i did made the mistake to buy live rock to begin with, but i was a beginner and didnt know it would cause so many problems. However, i think i'm gonna leave it there for now, and if its an emergency, i will replace it with cycled dry rock :)

Kalk mixed paste? Hmm, gotta try it out :)

Because we are a very helpful bunch and love the hobby.
