I just want to get some more opinions on what to do about this thing and make sure it really is aiptasia before I go messing with my brand new tank (not even a week old yet). It's really tiny, about the size of the tip of a fork prong and sort of a reddish brown color. It doesn't move with the water flow, it looks sort of stiff. And it's hard to get pictures of it since it's so tiny. Is it bad to wait a few days and see what it looks like? Or should I get rid of it now? I can't really do peppermint shrimp since my tank hasn't spiked yet but I read in another thread that Joe's Juice or vinegar would work.

Yup, looks like aiptasia to me. I got rid of mine with Joe's juice. Just apply some to the mouth area with the applicator (no need to inject with a needle), and it should shrivel up and die pretty quick.
No need to remove the rock from the tank to use the juice, just turn off the powerheads temporarily so it doesn't blow the juice away.

I am a huge fan of Aptasia X. It shriveled before my eyes and within a day, it was gone for good. You can pick this product up at any LFS :)

Do any of these cures hurt livestock? My peppermint shrimp still hasn't found my aiptasia...

If it's not swaying in the flow (and you do have flow, I presume), then I'd say it's a button polyp hitchhiker. (palythoa). While both sway in moving water, an aiptasia will be much more prone to movement. Many times a palythoa won't even show a hint of movement, especially if it's small.

Could you get a better picture?
