aiptasia?

    im not sure what this is, but it kind of looks like aiptasia. it was a hitchhiker on the chaeto i picked up. there are two almost microscopic versions of this as well. check the pics.

    yup you got it right. at least you know this will be easy to remove

    I would toss the whole chaeto and fast. They could already have spores in your system.

    i removed the chunk that had the aiptasia, the other pieces of aiptasia in the fuge, and then power washed the hell out of the chaeto. threw the chaeto back into the fuge and shut the ball-valve on the PVC inlet to the fuge so i can monitor for a day or two to see if any more sprout out. with the valve off their wont be any flow so no way for the spores to get to the DT (if they havent gotten there already).

    damn now i will be QT'ing EVERYTHING i get before it goes into my fuge or DT moving forward. lesson learned.

    Good plan. I think you should be fine, but ya never know with those evil little things.

    3 more little babies just found.... glad i shut the fuge off. siphoning the whole thing, tossing the chaeto, and waiting for the mud to arrive. thankfully this is a 3 week old tank so i can do that ;)
