ID this please. I just noticed it today in my tank. It seems to be growing under my hairy shroom. I only noticed it because the shroom happened to be at the perfect angle where I could see under it.

I know it's a blurry pic, but its the best I could do.

Long white tube with a pulp.

If it is that, how would you go about removing? Pick up the rock and remove with tweezers?

I can't really see, but if it has a long white tube, I'm going to guess it's a feather duster worm.

Hard to see, but if it is decided this is Aiptasia, Turbo Snails will get rid of them. At least they did in my tank.

it definitely has a tube. I'll keep trying to get a better pick. Like I said it's under a shroom in a dark area with a point and shoot camera so a good pick might be hard

I agree with kcbrad, as well. If it were an Aptasia, your Mushroom would probably be dead. Aptasias have powerful stinging nematocysts. For certain, if your shroom doesn't show any signs of damage or discomfort, then whatever it is, it's most likely harmless.

    Cheers

Well the one side of the shroom does seem to be folded up which is unusual. Thats how I originally noticed the thing because I could, for the first time, see under the shroom.

OK. You also said it definitely has a tube. (you posted that while I was typing... ;)) Aptasias don't build tubes. It's still most likely a featherduster. As for signs of discomfort, I was referring more to closing or shrinking. It may be slightly irritated by the tube, but if it becomes excessive, the shroom will move away from it.

    Cheers
