Is it necessary to have air stones and wands in my 75 SW tank? I have a filter, protein skimmer, and one PH a 1050 with more on the way. Is it necessary to also have air going into this tank?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sounds like enough, most people do not use airstones or wands any longer. Just make sure the surface of the water is being agitated by the powerhead and the skimmer should provided some oxygen.

Don't throw them out. If you have a power outage for a short bit and you have a battery powered air pump, that is a great way of protecting your investment until your electricity comes back on.

My reef is skimmerless so I use a single airstone with my Hydrogen Peroxide system. I use a Nalgene bottle with a single tube that the airstone is attached to and put the tube into the sump. I use Manganese dioxide as my catalyst for the Hydrogen Peroxide to start the chemical reaction and SLOWLY inject the PURE Oxygen into the sump and into my display tank. Extremely cheap system and extremely efficient keeping Oxygen levels at peak levels.

Interesting I had to resort to using Hydrogen Peroxide in my tanks when I had a multi-day power outage. So I know it works just gotta monitor it closely...not sure about how your system works though.
