To the experts....is this recommended in a salt water aquarium? How many here have them?, NOT in a sump...in the actual display tank....

I'm curious 'cause I used them when I had a fresh water tank, can't help wondering.

Sorry, not an "expert" by any means! :-/

Expect numbers here to say you don't need.

But no hurt to run one, except for possible salt creep.

I like the added margin of protection to ensure I am getting enough oxygenation and gas exchange, so have one in sump. (& in back chamber of Nano - which I think is really important to have, as is a covered tank)

I also have a battery powered "emergency" air pump in both tank that kicks on if power outage. May just give extra margin of protection if needed. Can turn on manually if faced with possible overtemp because of unusually hot day.

Up to you, and whether you want to spend some extra $ that you might need elsewhere. :-/

"Whispers" are very cheap and quiet.

Karma to you Omar...I always had that doubt, I have a couple of double outlet air pumps laying around, I'll use one too see what effec it has in temp like you mentioned.
