This is a little off topic, but since it was addressed, I figure I would follow up. I asked Randy about wet vs. dry. I undersand the reasoning that more organics might make it to the cup, but once they were in the foam head, I figured they were effectively removed from the system. As in rthey would not exit the skimmer and make it back to the system.

He basically said he has no data showing wet pulls more organics that dry, nor was he trying to make the case that definitely happens. However, by his reasoning, dry skimming has even less of a leg to stand on stating that more organics are pulled from the system. They very well be equal in how much organics are pulled from the system and tied up in the skimmer.

Update on adding the air pump to my skimmer. I just dumped the full collection cup of the nastiest stinkiest darkest skimmate I have pulled out with my skimmer. So I went from no skimmate to what you would expect if not more with adding the pump to my skimmer. It may or may not work on some skimmers but it did for mine. I am happy with my skimmer now. Thanks for the help on this one.
