    Hi All -

I was checking out all the photos in the pictures forum and I noticed nobody uses air stones in their tanks. (i never see a stream of bubbles rising up from the bottom)

Is there any reason for this?

As long as you have enough flow in your SW tank and top of the water movement you don't need airbubbles. People put them in FW tanks because most don't use PH in FW to move the water!

    Wow that's a lot of Creep !

    My tank has good flow

I kinda think the bubbles are a cool effect, just wanted to know if there were some serious side effects to the friends in my tank :)

No serious side effects - your tank will benefit from the extra oxygen.

I have 1 airstone in my wet/dry and 1 in my fuge......... Good to have "if" you have either. I wouldn't have one in the display. Mostly for personal preference.

I run 2 pumps with 2 stones on one and 4 stones on the other. Four stones are in the sump and 2 are in a container that I release the effluient from the Ca reactor to help blow off CO2. I use this to bring in outside air to the water, help keep pH up in the winter.
