Yeah, who knew? I can't take credit it for it. It was suggested by several people on this board. So far I think it's working pretty well. The fuge has been going for a couple of weeks and I have seen my nitrates start to drop a bit.

hey bud great job on your cube. hope you dont mind i stole your idea on the fuge.

picked up a small light for it. check it out http://www.jlaquatics.com/images/pc/coralife/al0918m.jpg

im thinking about doing some cutting to custom fit this, light unit is very small perfect for our fuge. right now its just sitting with my chamber hood open . but kinda worried about heat.

i dont see any issues with removing the divider to make fuge size larger. but i could be wrong.

Are you going to have the light over head? If so, how are you planning on attaching it? Or are you going to have on the back?

My small flourescent light is currently shining through the back, but I'm still unsure if it is a strong enough light.

Where did you find that light and how much is it?

So, following the untimely demise of my six-line I decided I should get another fish in there before the damsel got too territorial.

Picked up a firefish today (and some frags, of course). Was warned by the LFS that they can jump but I was all like "No problem, I got a top". So after acclimating and putting the new guy in (no QT tank...yet) I had the top up so that I could clean some algae off...Left the room, came back in and apparently startled the new fish... and he just flew out of the water. Luckily, he hit the tank top (propped open), unluckily he ended up in the 3rd chamber of the tank (better than the floor I guess).

After some disassembling of my fuge and diggin around a bit was able to fish the guy out. So tragedy averted. Hopefully he will get more use to me and not startle so easily.

    nice work :]

your water looks a tad cloudy
is this from stirring up the fuge to get the firefish out?

Yeah, I was looking at that one but it takes up the second chamber. I don't like the idea of getting rid of my mini-fuge.

I was actually looking at this one:

It's not for the BioCube but it is smaller and I could probably get it in the first chamber.

I've also been thinking about the Tunze Nano 9002. There is a thread on 3reef where someone used one of these. They had to a bit of modding to the hood.. but nothing major.
