awesome story! I had a huma huma trigger jump one time and was so dry he was stuck to the carpet. I picked him up and ran him back and forth in the water trying to get water thru his gills. I let him go and slowly floated to the bottom and just suddenly woke up, and was swimming around like nothing happend. :)

Wow, what a scare. That would've been terrible for you. I'm glad you were able to save him. :)

I know its crazyy right! I'm lucky I sneezed and had to get up and grab a kleenex, or I wouldn't have seen him quick enough.. Freakin sneeze from god lol saving me 90 bucks. He must've not been out of water too too long.. I assume a little fish like that can't live too long out of water ya know. At least I know bigger fish don't. He was super dried up though. I still can't believe it to be honest with you haha.

Thank goodness for tissue from God lol. Wow you did get super lucky though. Wondered if you had looked into getting some of that clear mesh and a window screen kit to make a "jump proof" top for your tank. It was super easy and only cost me around $20 but worth it cause I have wrasses too. They jump and get food that floats up at feeding time, and the mesh has much smaller openings and blocks almost zero par.

So I got the new light all hooked up, and everything works perfect. Its an odyssea fixture I got cheap off ebay.. I'd read a few complaints about it, mostly due to the legs not fitting in properly. Its funny, they didnt fit, but the little attachment that allows the legs to slide in place was screwed in upside down.. A little odd, but I just screwed them in the right way and they fit in just fine. BUT. Other than that there's still a few things I wanna change. Right now its too close to the surface, so I'm going to hang the light instead.. That way the halides beam covers the whole tank. So the legs were kind of irrelevant in the long run. Aside from that, I'm gunna buy a new bulb for it. It came with all the bulbs in place already, the T5's look great, but the halide bulb is too yellowish looking to me. So, I just ordered a phoenix 14K 250w from aquacave. I read a ton of great reviews on it on this site, and plenty others. Hopefully it'll be here sometime this week, and I'll post some pics then!!

Here's a lil close up of my shroom garden.. It's starting to come around. A few of them are really multiplying quickly, the blue and red with blue dots mainly. The others are growing great, but no babies yet.. Here's a crappy lil pic from my phone, doesn't do their colors justice.. You can really see how bright the new fixture is lol. I haven't hung it yet.. So theres still a beam in the center. The new bulb shouldddd be here this wk, hopefully. You can tell how grossly yellow the one the fixture came with is though lol. I'm sure I'll like it muchh more once the changes are made.

With the new light and such shallow tank, I knew that the water would be evaporating even faster. So I got on purely h2o, a sponser here, and bought an RO unit for a really great price. Witn the money I spend on water, it's gunna pay for itself in no time. I'll be sure to throw up a lil review on here for anyone in the market for a moderately priced RO system.

Nice Mushrooms, I hate when I see a tank and it's a sea of one color. You have nice variation there.
