Got the Phoenix 14k in today, along with a frag rack and few other things. I still need to hang the tank, that way the halide will cover the whole tank. Here's a few pics of the old light vs the new light

SUCCESS. Today I FINALLY caught this hitch hiker crab today that I've been after for like 5 months or so. I came home from work and looked in my tank, and saw the crab out in the open.. It's neverrr out during the day. So the crab saw me and scrabbled into a hole in the barnacles I have on the side of my tank. I knew he effed up and booked it downstairs to get a bucket and fished him out. It wouldn't come out easy and ended up breakin a claw off, but he's still kickin. I'll probably just kill it though haha. It's a black Mithrax crab.

Grats - hitchhikers can be such a nuisance. I've only had one (a coral) that actually turned out to be worthwhile.

Yeaah man I hear you.. I've been eyeing down that little crab since it was about the size of a pea, and he was wider than a quarter when I pulled him out. He never caused any trouble or anything, actually it was a pretty good cleaner. He was just growing so big so fast, I didn't want to wait until something did disappear before I made it a priority ya know.

Anyways. Plenty of changes since my last update. I had some horrible luck with fish for awhile there, but thats a completely different story. I still have both the clowns, my mandarin, yellow watchman, and a copperband butterfly fish that I've had for a little over 2 weeks. Hes really cool. A little pesky at first, kinda picking on my clam and trumpet colony, but no real harm was done. I make sure and keep him well fed, so he's being a good boy now. Needless to say, fan worms and aiptasia still don't stand a chance though haha. I'm finally got my hanging kit in to hang my light, so I'm gunna do that this weekend. Everythings really starting to take off with the new light, including my electric bill lol. Its worth it though. If yall wanna see anything in particular, let me know I'll snap some pics.

CB please. What are you feeding him? Nice news about the aiptasia, wonder if he would eat majano.

Images of the blasto, mushroom garden and any new sps frags please.

My guess is the CB would eat just about anyything that resembles an aiptasia or fan worm haha. When I first added him, I watched him peck on a few of my LPSs tentacles. Probably thinking it was an aiptasia, or part of one. But he's definitely figured out what everything is, and doesn't bother corals anymore. He eats pretty much everything though, and I understand that's supposed to be the difficult part about keeping CBs. But I rotate feeding mysis, these super carnivore cubes, and nutramar ova every day. He loves pellets to though.

I'm going to be hanging my new light today (finally). I'll definitely post some pics once I have it up!

So I hung up the new light today. I love it, I think it looks a million times better. A buddy of mine is breaking down his biocube, and I bought a few things off him today too. He always had this little fish I loved, a pink streaked wrasse or cryptic wrasse, so I got him and added him in the tank today. Along with a new cleaner shrimp. I've seen the wrasse many times and he eats just fine, so I decided to just put him straight into the 40. Here's a few pics with a decent camera..

If anyone has a specific ID of the blue acro,, please share!
