Looks like your right corailline, looks like a match to me. Thanks! Thats what I'm going for really, easy corals haha. For the time being at least..

Dowtish - I've done some research and I'm pretty sure its a vermitid snail, or however you spell it. The worm I have only puts out one or two of its little web strings, and the spaghetti can spit out multiple strands.. It doesn't seem to be bothering my trumpet coral, so I've let it be.

I ordered a new bulb today! I've been rocking super daylight and actinic bulbs. So I ordered an ATI aquablue special, and its 12k. I'm expecting to see a significant difference in my corals once I get it. I'll let ya'll know how I like it when it gets here, should be sometime next week!

Hey everyone. Got a little sad news.. My clowns lost a battle with ich :(. When I added my second clown a few weeks ago, I noticed he had the signature "salt grains" on him. He was still swimming and eating normally, and being the noob I am with salt tanks, I didn't think anything of it.. Lesson learned. I woke up one day to find him really pale and eventually died out later that day. After that happened I did my research and quickly realized it was ich.. Unfortunately I don't have a QT so I bought some garlic to soak my remaining clowns food in.. He was very picky and wouldn't touch it, so I kept feeding him the unsoaked pellets, and some occasional mysis. He soon began to get some "salt grains" on him and was rubbing up against rocks.. That was about a week ago. Since then he had gradually looked better as the days went by, until this morning.. I woke up today and noticed a pale spot just like the first clown had.. By the time I got home from class at noon, he was barely swimming and eventually died.

This is all pretty discouraging to be honest.. Being this is my first saltwater tank and those were my first two fish. But I want to try and move passed it and keep on trying. I'm going to by a little 10 gallon on friday once I get paid and setup a QT. Lesson definitely learned there. As well as I'm never buying a fish/coral from that LFS EVER again.

I have a few questions for you guys. What steps should I tank to rid my tank of ich? I've heard I need to leave it fishless from everywhere to 4wks to 2 months, and to turn up my heat a little bit.. What do yall suggest?? I think I added my fish too early, aside from the Ich from the LFS. The tank was a month old on the 5th, and I'm having a little algae pop up here and there again.. I'm also having a little trouble keeping my PH steady.. I always test mid-day, after the lights have been on for a few hrs. Some days its a spot on 8.2, although lately its been a little low, in the 7.9-8.0 range. What steps can I take to stabilize my pH and other params? I bought a kent marine reef starter kit that has calcium, iodide, and strontium/molybdenum, and I dose according to the directions on the bottle. I want to ensure all my params are stable before I buy another fish and start its 2 wk QT. Help is much appreciated here guys.. I don't want to lose anything else :(

all tanks have ich, regardless..its just keeping your fish healthy enough to fight it off and not stress them out...i will say you have a better chance of getting ich on your fish now at least for 6 weeks i would keep it fishless..you can still pack it with coral..

Its just frustrating since those were my first fish ya know.. 2 dead right off the bat.. not a good start lol. I'm going to at least leave it fishless for a month then. Then I'll get a few more clowns to QT for a few weeks and then add them. I'm thinking my tank is just still new, and I added them too early. Leaving is fishless is probably the longer the better. I just wish my params would stabilize. I haven't had any ammonia spikes or anything, but like like I said my pH seems to fluctuate.. As for the corals.. You alreadyyy knoww it haha. Aside from my fish problems.. My frags I have so far are doing great. So thats encouraging. But I'm determined to get all this stuff right.

By the way, get at me and send me some pics when ya can. I wanna get a lil frag pack picked out like we talked about earlier for sure.

yeah i got you..i made you a few zoa frags..i havent cut the acans yet, but i will in the next day..

for your tank, just make sure your keeping your salinity as stable as you can.. thats all i check... um and yeah i would keep it fishless.. im gonna hook u up on some corals you know that..just needa find a little time, with school everyday, then golf practice, then golf tournaments every weekend makes this hobby a little tough this part of the year..the tank is def getting a little neglected...

Don't dose anything you can't test for.

I would suggest testing for Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium. With a low demand tank you may find water changes are enough to maintain the levels.

Sorry to hear about your fish :(.
