Very pretty corals Alec, the one in question looks to be a millepora or prostrata it will need to branch out before we will know.

Yah I was thinking millepora myself.. I think I bought it as "strawberry shortcake" or something like that. But names like that seem to be website specific so I wasn't sure.

I actually have a little question for you John.. How do you deal with your sps growing close to one another? I know your tank has a lot of corals, so I was curious to see what measures you take to just keep them in check or what..? Rather sooner then later mine will be all over the place, so I've been wondering how all that will turn out haha.

Still dealing the bubble algae.. Man that stuff is a pain in the A$$. I think I'm going to order some emerald crabs from reef cleaners. I remember seeing that if they didn't eat bubble algae, they would give you your money back. That lil statement hasn't been there since they re-did the site, but I think I'm still gunna buy a few. I made a little thing with plastic tubing, so I've been removing it in bunches with water changes. Thats just not gunna work long term though. So we'll see!!

I dont mind the big bubble algae, but the little bubble kind ticks me off! I have a tang that will pop a bubble off and suck on it until it explodes. I think he eats them like a chocolate truffle.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The tank looks excellent. All the sps are encrusting nicely. What happened to all the mushrooms?

Thanks for sharing your build and keep it going! I have a 40b which is in the works of being set up. It's been about 10 years since my last reef tank which a location move brought that one to a halt. My son's science teacher this year has two 90gal marine tanks and has sparked his interest in wanting to start one. He didn't have to push the idea to hard either to get me to go along.
