Alec's 40gal breeder chronicles!

I bought a Aquaticlife fixture and the bulbs are:
Blue
10k - 12k Daylight
Blue
10k - 12k Daylight

and I really like the mid-day white look. I was very surprised at how nice the bulbs that came with the fixture were. Some folk have had better experience with growing corals when you have some purple and blue spectrum however. So I may switch it up...

 

Clonefarmer, once again thanks my man. Exactly what I needed. I've been scouring google for bulb combo pics for a few days now lol. I appreciate it.

LGangway - Thats pretty much the combo I'm working with right now, but I want to try to go for that more bluish deepwater look.. If you know what I mean.. I'm looking on aquacave right now, and they have good prices and cheap shipping on ATI bulbs. So I'm going to make the purchase soon. I'll post some pics so you can check out the difference, maybe it'll help you decide..

Hey yall. No big additions lately. I have some corals coming tmrw and wednesday, so expect a few pics the next couple days. I finally have my QT up and going. I actually have my eye on a few percula's at a store close to me, so I think I'm going to get them before someone else does first! They'll be in my QT for like 3 weeks first though. I also ended up going with the ATI bulbs.. 2 Blue plus, 1 aquablue special, and one purple plus. I'm going for that deeper blue look, so hopefully it'll look good! They should be here sometime later this week/early next week.

Quick question for any knowledgeable 3reefers out there.. I want to add more LR to my tank. There's about 40 lbs in there right now (more or less), but I want to start adding some small pieces I can stack. Is it safe to add a few lbs here in there over the next month or 2? Will it effect my params at all?

 

it wont effect anything as long as its either dry rock

or cured rock that stays in water from the time u take it out the established tank to your tank..

 

A few new things today as promised. An acan frag and some "eye of rah" zoo's. They're still don't have their color yet though.. But so far so good!
