Ok, alot of people ask me about updates. Well a little neglect goes a long way. My alk swung... HARD and I lost alot of acro frags and small colonies. That being said, all my other SPS (stylo BD and various monties) are growing great and were unaffected. My clams are well also. As a bonus my LPS are coming back. Apparent alk affects LPS before SPS who knew?

So I got some stuff from a fellow reefer, great packing and numerous freebies. The prize was the orange/purple plate. OMG it is hot!!!!!!!! Then he threw in a big miami hurricane frag, laser lemon zoas, rastas!, and some pink and green skirted zoas that look nice! I'm pretty pumped, and have a hot clam coming later in the week with a acro colony.

Thanks guys. It can be really easy to get lullled into complacency in this hobby (im naturally predisopsistioed towards apathy) and I added ALOT of clams and corals over a few months and since everything was still looking great with color, ps, and growth i thought, well there we go.

ow i just need to startt a testing habit and stick with it and get my doser running. I set up some top rails under my canopy and its helped clear up the space for my dosing station.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    I hear ya Alex.

Dang hobby demands consistent attention to details, especially when you venture into demanding corals/delicate fish/expensive clams.

I am kind of stuck in that rut myself.

Congrats on the new stuff and the soon to be new stuff. The plate is awesome, love the coloration.

Sorry about your losses Alex, sucks, but I sure will more help from your friends, it'll be fill back up in no time. And BTW, everytime you say hot like that, I heard Paris Hilton steals just a little bit of your soul:(

Descirbes me to a T, which is why I'm gonna stik with LPS and clams for now, I recently lost 2 acros due to me be lazy calibrating my refractometer and the sal getting too high. It was right for months, why the need to keep calibrating it I thought, well oops. Good luck with the new additions, that plate and hurricane are HOT;) Paris is gonna have to search deep to find my soul

I keep hearing this, but my cal stays pretty stable between WCs with 3 clams(6+", 5", and 2 1/2") Maybe I need more;)
