Anybody use this algae before Chaetomorpha Sp? Don't know much about it. Any preference using this instead of caluerpa? Are there other algaes I should consider?

At this time I only have a 5 gl fuge but I do use the cheato. I got it because I was told that it was less likely to go sexual and was better with the nitrates. I think it is sometimes called brillo because it looks like a brillo pad. This is the only one that I've used.

Under New to the Hobby there is a thread called natural nitrate remover. I had posted a couple of pics of cheato if you want to see what it looks like. I didn't know how to transfer the pic to this thread or I would have done it for you.

    Thanks Jason!

I didn't know if you could just somehow move the pic over but I guess you have to move the whole thread.

Craig?? Got advise from you before and it seemed very sound so heres another question. Have a 20 long rufugium under my main tank. I have 2 x 55 pc coralife, about 2inches of live sand, about 250gph of flow through with Chaetomorpha and Red Gracilaria. All this is pretty new. Does this sound this a decent set-up for growing the Algae and pods?? Do you add any supplements?? Flow right?? Run both lights or just one. Sorry so manny questions but I'm tring to do it right

You have quite a bit more light than I do. I run an 18 watt NO daylight bulb 24/7 and have 300gph flow in my 30 gallon long. You should be just fine, I would run just one bulb on alternating days 24/7 to extend the life of the bulbs. It should be fine in any case. No supplementation just good salt ans a monthly water change in the display tank.
