Algae ID Please!

    It does not seem to be Hair Algae or Bryopsis. Any idea what it might be?

    It looks like some form of macro algae. It really looks like hair algae having a very bad hair day.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Looks similar to a turf algae. Which one I do not know. Perhaps John from Reefcleaners.org can pin it down.

    the second pic looks like Bryopsis.

    The first pic is a patch I pulled out from the second pic. It does not have the fern like appearance like bryopsis

    it isnt byropsis, but wirey greens can be just as bad. Most animals dont have the cutting power for it, fish and urchinsand other cleaners with drawbacks only usually....so manual removal is best if you can do it. is it all localized on that one rock? can you treat that rock overnight in a bucket with algaecide, or "nuke" it? It will probably be near impossible to manually removal it all by plucking it out.
