Ok, both of the algaes are growing very high up in my rockwork and are directly infront of a Koralia 750, they don't grow anywhere else so I think they like high flow. Also, both of them are very difficult to manually remove while the green one is almost impossible. Here are some pictures.

One is green while the other is brownish and seems to grow in seperate leaves while the green is like short grass and grows in clusters

And here is just the brown one

Looks like GHA. Snails may eat it when it's short like that. I've had better luck with them eating it if I place 4 or 5 of them on the rock with the algae.

I have tried putting nerites and hermits on the rock and they dont touch it. Also do you have any idea what the second one is in the bottom picture? I have 0 nitrates and 0 phosphates and chaeto running in my fuge.

The Nerites I have didn't do much either. The Astrea and Margarita snails did all the work.

+1 on the beginning of Green Hair Algae growth. A lawnmower blenny will eat that right out of the rock, but if you do not want to add a blenny, there are other options. Sea Hares, Mithrax Crabs (Esmerald crabs) but the later can turn mean as it grows.

Ya I don't have any of those, I will see if my LFS has any today.

Ya, I don't want to add a crab or bleeny but I will check out the sea hares.

There's also the possibility of bryopsis; it's hard to tell until it grows out further whether it's plain old hair algae or bryopsis, though.

I was thinking that too, but from the looks of it I think its GHA. I think there are two types of algae though, does anyone know what the second is?

You can also add a collector urchin - mowed down my algae - before I got my lawnmower blenny. But Like I am sure others have said fined the reason the algae started ie: nitrogen, phosphates
