Algae identification please

I would appreciate if someone can identify this algae for me. From what I read so far, it may be bryopsis but I am not sure. This is overtaking my tank. Thanks

if it was me, i would start another tank and just put the corals in it. bleach all the rock and sand from the original tank and start over. its the only way to rid of it.

 

Yup! I would also follow guru's advice! I don't know anybody who was able to "manually" get rid of bryopsis! Good luck! :-/

 

Thank you for the tips. I have heard some people have success in getting rid of bryopsis by raising Mg level above 1600 ppm by using Tech M or Epsom Salt. I have reached and maintained at that level using Epsom salt for almost a week but see no reduction in the algae growth. I did not see any ill effect so far to the rest of tank despite such a high level of Mg but it does make me nervous for adding so much Mg to the tank. Should I continue in keeping the Mg level up? For how long?

What about sea hare? I don't know anything about it other than it eats algae. I have never seen a sea hare in my LFS.

I really hate to tear down my tank as I just got it the way that I want it and it took me a year to get to this point

 

I've also heard of lights out for a week to rid your tank of Bryopsis. I've also heard there where some SPS losses
