Algae Issues!!!!

My 29 g setup it's about a month old but can't seem to win against brown algae on the sand, when the lights go on in the morning you can't find it but at the end of the day is covered with it , I feed only once a day.

 

How long are your lights on also how old are they? and what kind t5s , mh, or pc?

 

The are on for about 8 hours, t5's and light comming to be about 1 year old. The bottem of the tank i sware in the morning is really clean, then about 2 hours later covered all up again.

 

regular diatom bloom. peredhill did a thread that documented his experience with it. long story short, easy to clean starves itself out, perfectly normal.

 

+1. Also, at one year, you need new bulbs for the fixture

I really do need to start reading things more, I guess i'm just getting lazy after a good day of work

 

Started using ro water looks like its helping right now it has cleared up a ton.
