It's a little dwarf cerith. I saw it just now moving along the bottom with this brown string of algae with clear (white) bubbles in it floating up off its back. What is that algae?

I pulled the snail and wiped it down with a towel and put it back.

I don't have any algae problems I know of, so this was a little surprising.

One of my snails had some algae growing on his shell - one of the other snails was nice and cleaned it off, lol. Also had a snail crawl in one of my Koralias to clean it off- he must have tried to clean the impeller, as it didn't end well.

Possibly cyanobacteria, which isn't an algae at all. They are photosynthetic however, hence the oxygen bubble hanging off the strand as a finished product of incorporating carbon dioxide as a starting point.

OK, that makes sense... coming off this shell is the ONLY place I can spot this... I will keep an eye out for it, but what should I watch for/check?

ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate all 0. Being on a snail, the flow is variable :p
