Looks like GHA (geen hair algae) from here... I would manually remove as much as you can, then cut your light cycle in half, cut the feeding a little bit as this will keep nutrients on the low side. Then slowly start adding 30 minutes of light time once all the algae is gone. I see you have plenty of posts, but I figure it doesn't really say much so I will ask: Is this a new tank or a new piece of rock?

    I don't trust what I think I see.

Is that a bunch of algae growing on the water surface?!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Looks like cynobacteria and GHA.

Need to test for phosphates. Nitrate levels, increase flow to that area of you have not already. Try some GFO as the phosphates are probably locked up in the existing algae. JM2C

I thought that too! I think it is an aerial shot, straight down. Wicked illusion though!

No its on the back wall of my biocube.
Im gonna cut the lights back. What type of light schedule should i aim for while fighting the algae? I also just changed my SeaChem SeaGel (which is a blend of carbon and phosphate remover) the other day as well. I change it once a month. I just have it in little mesh like bags on a rack in the back of my biocube. I also have some phoslock, should i use that also?
The next time a do a water change im gonna scrape it off while siphoning it out of the tank.
