    lol love the movie. This problem is common because the algae that grows on the powerheads gets more exposure to nutrients than the rest of the tank. The powerhead gets way more flow over it than the rest of the tank and therefore is a prime spot for the algae to grow. Clean it because of equipment operation purposes and if the algae dies it wont be good for water quality if it's dead.

    Just watched it the other day. Honestly, I have never seen another movie more times. I mean that completely literally.

    I am a major Clark Griswold fan. My favorite part of that movie is his reaction when his boss gives him the jelly of the month club membership.

    Regarding powerheads, I clean mine with vinegar & water... I see no one else said that, am I the only one who uses vinegar or something? It seems to break up the gunk stuck in hard to reach places and makes it easier to scrub everything off.
