I have some green some stuff on my sand and I noticed that when my lighting came on today that their was a color shift in one bulb. I have a sunpod with 2 150 watt MH 14K aquamaxx bulbs. I don't thik its the bulbs but not sure. The sunpod is 2.5 years old. What do you guys thinks. Could the gree algae on sand be from bad bulbs or from the sunpods ballast causing color shifts in the bulbs?

When is the last time you changed bulbs. If it is over 9 months the odds are yes, if over a year then definitely yes, if not since buying the fixture then you are going to be without light very soon. In any case remember you will have to light acclimate your tank when you replace the bulbs.

Probably too early for ballast issues but you could be getting close.
