This was the back corner of my tank,
A light rock had fell and created a dead zone in this corner I rearranged rock got better flow, removed what I could and all of it has seemed to go away but what was it?

This was after me being away for 2 weeks and the fishy sitter over feeding agh must come up with a better system next time I go away although it could have been way worse

It's kind of hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like a type of hair algae to me. How long has your aquarium been setup? Dino's are usually from initial set up or from adding tap water to your aquarium. Dino's feed off of silicates in the water column.

I didnt mean Dino, meant cyano lol

Tanks been set up for over a year. The only hair algae i have experienced was a bright green this was more of a washed out brown

IME, cyano is more like a reddish film that grows on the sand bed and on LR. How are your params doing? Cyano love phosphates, which I can't seem to get rid of myself, lol.

I was thinking of diatoms when I was talking about dino actually, lol. I must be more tired then I thought.

sticksmith23, your thinking of diatoms, not dinoflagellates a.k.a. dinos. I can't tell for sure from your picture jdameli1. It looks more like dinos than cyano, although, there are some types cyano, such as calothrix, that are very, very similar to dinos. Actually so, similar, it is even tough to tell the difference with a microscope. All I can say is that dinos are a nasty slimy snot. They tend to go away at night and come back in force by the end of the day. They tend to go away with a lot of flow, but if you turn down the flow they can reappear. They are mobile and occasionally you can see them move even. I don't think it is typical "red slime" cyano though. More pictures might help though.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The type of Dino I experienced developed air bubbles during the photo period, like little strings of light.
