Not sure what the algae like growth on the first branch from the top on the left is. I did a heavy duty dip of the coral before placing it in my tank, and this showed up almost a month later. It looks like a marco algae, but it is growing from the coral.

I'm considering taking the coral out and discarding it if the thing continues to grow. But I really don't want to do that if the growth is benign.

    Advise please.

That algae is nasty and invasive... I would deal with it now while you still can.

Incognito - Would you be so kind as to provide the type of algae it is?

    THANKS!

    Thanks

Thanks everyone for your input. I had to cut the top half of the coral away to get rid of whatever it was.
