Let's get to the bottom of this. Any of the above info that is questionable to you is pertinent to keeping a happy/healthy tank/wallet.

The tank is quite young, do I just have to wait this out? I've gotten some advice but wondered if my params were out of line.

Maybe try adding something to your cuc that will eat macro algae.

I have found sea hares to eat hair algae and they cost just under 20 bucks . My tank had some but within a week it was gone after I bought the sea hare . I also have a black blennie who loves to munch off of the rocks . I have read that red scarlet hermit crabs eat tons of algae also . good luck and wish you the best .

Without going too deep I would cut out the DTs entirely.... It is polluting the tank.

    Good luck!!

Rainford's.... but the amount they eat isn't as much as people think, they are looking for bethnic inverts....

As far as CUC is concernd it is like a band aid.... I only have 2 turbos maybe 4 margarita snails and 25 red leg hermit crabs TOPS in a 180.... I used to promote heavy CUC but that isn't addressing the problem!!

    Happy cleaning!

A common mis-conception with the "algae eating blennies" also.......
