My tank has been running for about 3 years and I've gradually upgraded most of the components. Recently I've changed my T5s for an LED set-up (Eco Lamps / Acan KR93). Since then, algae has gone wild and is almost taking over.

I've started the lamps on approx 50% power to help acclimatise and I'm now getting to point of giving up.

Nitrates are zero and phosphates 0.08 (I'm running RowaPhos). I use ro water.

I'd really appreciate any advice to get rid of this stuff.

I would check your test kits. Also, your phosphates are on the higher side. That isn't low enough to starve out your algae.. Maybe change out your media? Or add some chaeto/some other type of macro algae?

The algae is eating up the nitrates and phosphates faster than you can get a reading on, so both levels are actually much higher than you see on your test kit. There must be a source of nitrates/phosphates somewhere, to get rid of the algae you'll need to find it. Start with feedings, how much? How often? What do you have for fish? Filtration? Circulation? Any and all info you can give us will help greatly.
