    i have had my new tank set up for 6wks now and i started getting brown algae, and i can't seem to get rid of it. it's not taking over the tank but what can i do to eliminate it? my nitrates, nitrites, ammonia are all 0. i haven't tested for phosphates yet cause i have to get the test for it. could thid be the problem or is this just new tank problem.

    This is normal. It will get very bad and then go away totally. give it a couple of weeks longer
