So heres the deal, had this tank for about 9 months, sometimes get little algea problems that eventually go away. But for the 3 weeks i've been having algea that i cant get rid of. I dont even know what kind of algea it is. Was hoping you guys could tell me what algea i have, and how to kill it.
Its wreaking havoc on my corals and gobie.

Dont have a phosphate tester (getting 1 today) but used phosgaurd anyways.

    nitrates 5.0
    nitrites 0.1
    ph 8.0

my lights are on like 8 hours a day or so..

Also used some other stuff to lower my nitrates.. and do 30-50% water changes often..

Also scrubed my rocks down multiple times..

    heres some pictures.

    Thank you!!

a refugium, is a space where fish cant get too, so its a refuge for inverts like copepods. the copepods will live and breed in there and some will go into the main tank and fish will eat them.

you want it because people grow macro algae in them. the macro algae sucks up nutrients that small algae will use to grow in your tank. macro means big, so its basically a plant. and once the fuge fill up of it you take out half or 1/3 and through it away or sell it. thus removing excess nutrients from you tank

basically its a small saltwater plant tank. either hang on the back, intank, or seperate

    http://www.reefcleaners.org/ sells it

That would be great, but i'de probly have a hard time doing that.. I looked it up on google and cant find anything small enough for my tank. Its a 34 gallon red sea max self contained tank. So everything protien skimmer filters, media, and jets are all built into it, and it has a hood that's not removable..

You can try killing your lights for a while. And add a sufficient clean-up crew. From the looks of your pics, you don't have anything that would die without light for a while.
