I think a good idea would be to look up local dentists in the phone book and call around finding out prices and whether they will do a payment plan or not.

are you near a dental school? When I lost my dental insurance I was referred to the dental school a couple towns over. Downside, there was a very long wait for an appt.......It was actuallly over a year at the dental school by me so I never went!

Also look at this website. I had to get CareCredit to pay for my dogs emergency surgery bills. They are really good and offer low interest and covers all sort of medical things, including dentistry. You can type in your zipcode and see the dentist around you that takes it. You can apply online and I was approved the same day and was able to take my email confirmation in to the vet
CareCredit® Dental Financing for Dentistry and Dental Procedures (Finance Teeth Whitening, Tooth Filling, Root Canals & More)
actually if you pay back within a set time (I think six months) there is no interest charges. On this site you can also get an idea on what your monthly payments will be depending on how much and how long your repayment plan is that you choose

Also if you dont have a job you need to look into Medicaid. All Medicaid plans have some type of dental plan....at least in Missouri (esp the Managed Care Medicaid) Talk to your social security office to see if you qualify

    good luck
