hello i had a question on my alkalinity and my ph being low. I've been testing my params regularly and seem like the only thing that seem to drop off is my alkalinity and my ph stays low.

my question is i was looking into a buffer to raise this problem. i was looking at seacheam reef buffer. which seems to raise to ph and alkalinity as is described from reading. will this product work for me? or is there another route to address this issue?

Low magnesium can cause problems with all and pH. Test that first ,should be 1300-1400. Trying to fix low alk and pH will be impossible with low mag.

Your alk is going to drop significantly faster than your calcium or magnesium. I'd have to recommend doing 2 part as your cheapest option. BRS sells these materials for the cheapest (other than buying generic supplements).

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
What time of day are you testing?

Test a couple times a the end of the lighting period to get your highest pH and a couple time consecutively at the beginning to get your lowest. Then get an idea of the difference or swing between the two.

I agree 2 parts is a great away to improve the values.

Definitely need to know at least the Ca value before you start using a buffer though, a mag would be very nice as well.

Try to get the LFS to test those values for you.

Go very slow with any changes, such as dosing or attempting change values.
