What would you say is the most docile Halichoeres wrasse? I am looking for one to round out my stocking. 75G display, SPS, no shrimp/crabs.

    Hey Andy,

Halichoeres chrysus and Halichoeres iridis are at the top of that list.

Do you have any sort of color preferential?

Not yellow. :) I have quite a few reds/orange fish. Looking for some greens, or pink.

Thanks so much Evolved! I'm really excited to add two more males for the interesting activity and color. Funny, the LFS that I purchased the Carpenter's from had another wrasse that I'm pretty sure was the 8-lined but I prefer the ones with filaments so gave it a pass. Will find two of the others and have a great mix.

Give H. claudia a look then; probably your best bet.

The above is on possible list. How is the H. annularis temperament? I am trying to stock this setup with unusual fish...I don't really know why. Thanks!

    H. annularis isn't a real species; moniker for H. miniatus.

Although, you're probably basing this off of an error on LA, where the Dusky wrasse is completely incorrectly labeled as one. Which in fact is H. marginatus (and the page title on LA reflects this correctly; check the top of the window when it's open).

If the latter is what you mean, they get large and therefore pose a greater risk to snails then some of the smaller Halichoeres.

I love coming to this thread and seeing all the input and people and their options they are looking at . Thanks for this Hunter. +K

Well that settles it! Can't trust LA anymore. Large is okay with me as long as aggression is not toward other fish. I have, or will have, quite a few easily startled species.

Shouldn't be aggressive towards other fish, but sometimes small fish are just scared by any relatively large fish.
