Ah, I actually wondered about colorblindness after I quoted that. My father is colorblind and there's no chance in hell he'd see red font. :) A better color choice shall be used next time.

Anyhow, give him some time, he'll figure it out. They're not a stupid fish. :)

Wrasse question. I recently got a yellowfin flasher which was mislabeled as a mccosker. I was set on the mccosker, but the yellowfin has acclimated to my tank very well, very active, eats well, etc. My tank is a standard 75g, with 2 ocellaris clowns, coral beauty angel, midas blenny, yellow watchman goby and the yellowfin wrasse. My plan had been to add the Mccoskers and 2 females with it, but, the females are hard to find as we all know. I didnt know there was an option to do multiple males of different species. Would I be able to possibly add 2 more male flashers, the mccoskers and maybe a blue wrasse. Or would I be able to add a fairy with the 2 flashers?

Oh, and the tank is well covered with 1/4'' clear mesh, so no jumping out :)

You should be able to do any of those options; do use an acclimation box as I've outlined when you add them however.

Your best chances of eliminating aggression would be to add both at the same time however, regardless of which option you choose.

thanks, is there any specific fairys that would be fine with mccoskers and yellowfin? Also, if I have 3 males, adding a female would be out of the question, correct? I may have the option of pairing the yellowfin with a female. If I do that, I have a 40g breeder tank that is very peaceful. Would that be too small for the yellowfin?

Most would be fine; just avoid the ones which I've listed as usually aggressive.

Not necessarily; should work out acceptably.

That'd be about the minimum size tank I'd feel comfortable keeping flashers in; should be fine.

I was thinking about the redhead solon fairy, or orangeback fairy. Would both of those be considered peaceful enough? Thanks again!

I'm considering two male flasher wrasses, would they be peaceful towards my other fish? All my fish swim together and i would hate to introduce a fish that would big the crap out of them. I have a copperband butterfly, purple fire fish, blue tang, yellow tang, flame angel, bangaii cardinal, clown fish.

Do melanarus wrasse sometimes just disappear for a couple days? I saw mine yesterday evening picking at rockwork all fat and healthy but then he just disappeared before the lights went off and has not come out yet today. Looked around the tank no signs of wrasse on the floor (My reef is covered pretty well where I dont think he could get out but you never know). Im hoping he just went to bed early and hasnt come out yet

Nevermind, just to bed early and a slow riser this am but he finally came back out and looks fine. Must of had a hard day grazing yesterday

I just added a yellow coris and a mccoskers flasher to my 75, they get along great and i love them! They add a ton of color and personality to my tank.

Sorry for the delays here folks; been enjoying some time off.

Solons are usually temperamental; I'd stick with an orangeback over one.

How large is the tank? Sounds like you have a pretty hefty stock already unless the tank is quite big. Assuming you can handle the bioload and the tank would allow adequate space, two flashers should be fine.

Not that it matters now, but yes. The sand sleepers can disappear sometimes for a few days without any good reason.
