Ok so after a change to the pump plumbing all the coral look terrible, Here is what was done:

Sunday the checkvalves were removed and a union fitting added to the sump, I change the direction of the output and also it would have increased the flow, so could the flow increase have effected the corals, could the pvc glue that was used and only let dry for 45 minutes leeched into the tank? Any input would be much appreciated.

    All water peremeters are good...

never had any issues with PVC glue...do you smell anything like a solvent in the water?
if you increase flow over corals they will draw up until they acclimate...if its not too harsh.
    picture?

Did you use any PVC cleaner or primer...I've never had issues with PVC glue itself so long as it has a 30+ minutes to dry/cure and you're not using a huge amount at one time. It is possible the corals just need some time to adjust to the increased flow/change in flow patterns.

It can just be the flow, without the check valve those pumps really put some power out, what about an increase in dissolved O2, with out the valves the returns are almost out of the water creating more oxygen in that, thanks in advance...also I did a water change of 40gal roughly 20% after all of this was done, so it would have diluted any remaining glue.

just take it easy and ask questions..don't do anything fast...think it out, if ya get a bad reading ..double check it....if something starts looking different...think about the thing you did last....and JMO, I keep a simple journal, nothing crazy, just test readings, equipment cleaning, livestock added,...basically a note about what when and where things are being done....works for me.

Thanks last question also added carbon, that was rinsed in tap, I would think the carbon would absorb the impure water no? I cant see that having such an effect on a 200+ gal system.
