my best guess is that the ICH did them in, they were tank mates and when one gets sick that's got to effect(affect?) the others, so they got stressed and it went down the line.

were these the final symptoms the fish had before their deaths? I know, "We all know what ICH is and what it does"(I'm guilty of thinking this about ICH, until reading this). Were there any other signs, looking back, that aren't listed here?

That was taken from Animal Planet's site...if they don't know...nobody know.

Thanks Linda. It may have been ick, I just couldn't believe that all the fish could have died from it, especially the clown. It seems that it just depends on who you talk to about it. Just like everything else in this hobby, if one person says one thing at least 2 others are saying the opposite!! I'm going to move through with my plan and see what happens... I will keep everyone updated!!

What type of gloves are you using? Latex could be an issue. Another thing, are the gloves covering every part of your skin that is under water?

They have those arm leingth gloves for use with cows. I'm sure you have seen them on Dirty Jobs.

sorry for your loss. it sounds like you've talked to the experts, so you've probably covered the following: any sources of metal ions (fittings, storage bins for H2O)?, over-aged additives? what is your water source? any common theme in fish mode of death (pre-death behavior, physical changes before or at death)?

The only thing bothering me about our conclusion is the ick... maybe it was the culprit after all. Will never know for sure... all I can do is move on from here! Did a 20 gallon water change yesterday and I have the salt mixed up for a 20 gallon change tomorrow. After that I am hoping to go to the big city and get a new fish and some more snails to help with my GHA. It has exploded since the tang and Foxface died. We will see how things go from here...
