Now you guys must have Otty sweating something fierce. Who's next?
It does suck, and I hope it never happens here.
That's a lot of time and effort spent, but chalk it up to a learning experience.

well I'm not sure is someone already said this but do you ever have paint or chemicals open in your house?

because if you do the paint fumes and chemical fumes can kill fish as well had a problem with that before.

sorry for your losses hope you get this figured out

No chemical exposure I don't think. I think that was an overreaction. Thanks for the well wishes everyone!

Yeah, I don't think it was the chemicals either, cause your inverts would have been the first to go, then the corals, then the fish(IMO). I didn't even think of Oodinium! I had a fish that got that when I first started my tank. That's when my LFS gave me something to treat it with and I think, for some reason it was copper based. Well needless to say, I lost the fish(& my inverts) and my $$, plus, I went back and bought another fish! ::):-/

Well at least I can be thankful that my corals and inverts are doing well. I think I have more into my inverts than all the fish I have put in my tank. And my corals are thriving too! You were pretty close when you called out ick, I just have the more serious kind! I think the course of action will be to let the tank set fishless for a couple months then add one. I'm not really worried because I will have the best cleanup crew a 55 has ever seen by then!! Plus tons of corals too, if I'm not adding fish what else would I spend my money on?!?! Thanks for the investigative efforts Linda. I'm still talkin with Tangster about what to do next.

I might run Kogle's when he is done with it but I doubt it... Roger said to increase the temp to 80-84 and it will cycle through then die off in a couple months. It is actually kinda nice not to have any fish, I can now concentrate on my cleanup crew which is already fine but new additions won't hurt! Plus I will spend some more money on corals instead of fish so after the next frag swap I should have a pretty good lookin tank! Thanks again

I just saw this and i am worndering if there could of been some virus passed from fish to fish. I am confussed as to the shrimp living as most of what i remember reading says they are more fragile than some of the fish.

As for the chemicals it is a strong possibility but then back to the shrimp.

I would guess that it was some fish disease.

    Karma for the loss.
