    I finally setup my 30 gal sump under my 55 gallon tank. I have a mag 9.5 pushing back to the tank with a regulator on it. My water has turned milky white from the bubbles. I tried everything including a sock to help reduce the bubbles. If I have a trickle or full force going into the sump there are still millions of micro bubbles. The end as of now is a open 1 inch pipe straight down to the surface of the water.

    Would a new sump skimmer accept the water going down eliminating the bubbles? My remora c for some reason isnt working well anymore. I cant get it to skim and think I would like to get a skimmer for the sump taking it off the back of the tank. Would a oder from the tank be caused from lack of skimming or all the new water movement from the overflow?

    Tanks 2 years running.
    Three small fish.
    All readings are zero.

    ph=7.9
    salanity = 1.025

    Thanks for any help.

    If your getting microbubbles then you are pulling air from somewhere...
    Thats a large pump for a smaller tank...
    I had an issue like this where my fuge overflowed into my return area... the water falling from the fuge causes bubbles in the return section that my sump immediately sucked up...

    I had to put some foam pads for the water to fall through and raise the water level a bit to resolve it

    It pulls alot of air. I dont think the tank size is a problem. The drain can handle the pump at max. I have it turned down slightly. I will try and add some egg crate to hold some foam pads.. Seems like a waste of time.

    I bet thats it... i had the same issue... ehh a sump is definately not a waste of time!
    I will never go without a sump LOL

    Add some padding where the water is hitting hardest and causing the bubbles... will take care of it
