We recently installed a new 75 gallon tank to the family. Setup went smooth other than the overflow dumping pressure. The flow every so many mins will drop then return to normal. Is there something simple I'm missing? I have tried everything I know and it still does it. Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks

what kind of pump are you using(what GPH)? It sounds like you are creating a surge effect. where the box fills up a bit and then dumps with a full syphon down to the sump.

try to throttle back your pump a bit and see if that helps. Always, reduce the pump flow on the output never at or before the input. you want the pump to pull with little resistance.

Air hole in the standpipe could be too small. If you are using the durso type that is.
