During the past week, I've lost about 6 fish from 3 different tanks due to jumping. None of my fish have ever jumped before. Never. and now I don't know what's going on. Egg crate for all of my tanks is way over due but I didn't see it as a priority since none of em ever jumped out of their tanks before.
    So far to the list I have lost;
    Flasher Wrasse
    Green Chromis
    Blue Damsel
    Magenta Dottyback
    Hippo Tang
    Tomato Clown
All of this in the past week.
Scientifically, could it be something with the moon that's causing them to jump because that's the only thing I could think of.:-/

you might want to check your parm's on your tank or stray voltage they were trying to get away from.

Wrasses are jumpers, so that to explains it in itself, and I have heard of clowns jumping, but I've never heard of a tang or damsel jumping. If it was from one tank, I would say something is up with the parameters or there is voltage in there, but coming from 3 different tanks, unless plumbed together, maybe it is some thing natural. I would put tops on the tanks of some kind immediately though.

I would check the tanks temperatures and oxygen levels (Red Sea, and likely others, make a test kit). It's the time of year when it may be getting higher than normal. At higher temperatures, the amount of oxygen that can be dissolved in the water is lowered, possibly to the point where the fish are jumping while going to the surface.

I wouldn't lid the tanks until after you confirm temp and oxygen aren't the culprits.

That was my initial assumption but they jumped from 3 different tanks.

I was always worried about the wrasse jumping but he never did until 2 days ago. They're 3 different tanks not plumbed together and in separate rooms.
I'm gonna try to get some egg crate for all of the tanks as soon as possible.

I know that my temp is in check but I'm unsure of the oxygen leves. I'll try to get my hands on some test kits to verify.
    Thanks

I'll guess you take care of all 3 tanks similarly. That all 3 have the same water source and similar care regiments.

It being 3 different tanks doesn't mean, IMO, it's not the parameters of the tank when all 3 are under the same roof under care by same person...

There has to be something common here. Temp is a good idea, so is O. So is checking for current.

Do you use RO/DI or tap? Is your RO/DI filters clean, you still getting 0 TDS?

Did you recently do a big WC on all the tanks?

A long shot...since all your tanks are open top, was anything used in the house (or came from outside) that could be polluting them?
