The flat stone is actually an old dead coral that I bought together with my LR, but very far from your place Cayman..

WOW, thats a lot of stocking for such a short time frame . . . good luck with your tank selection with such a small footprint. Are you planning on keeping that clown tang long term?

Hi Will, what’s wrong with the Clown Tang? I understand he has the reputation of been aggressive but I introduced all three tangs together and he is actually the smallest one of the three. Didn’t see any sign of aggressiveness so far.

They get huge and it seems the bigger they get the nastier they become. 4 small to medium [adult] sized tangs is pushing it in that sized tank, and you have 2 that get over a foot, and one that will max out at around 15" and is characteristically super aggressive. Another red flag is the mandarin, but you obviously have the financial backing to spend $20-$40 every week on pods no problem to keep him fat and happy.

Don't get me wrong, your tank looks amazing, its just my opinion that your going a little fast and overstocking this early in the game could end in disaster. again, great looking tank!!

Really nice!!! good luck and my advice to you! don't rush.... i know its easier said then done but trust me when i say, "don't rush" rushing is an expensive mistake learned by me the hard way! i flushed away thousands because i was stupid! now I'm a selective, conscientious aquarist!
    GOOD LUCK!

I couldn’t agree more when you say SLOW DOWN… Unfortunately (or fortunately) I didn’t have much choices here and have to deal with it now. See my previous post:

But I have to say the fishes are my mistake, didn’t research enough and didn’t know the Clown tang will grow that BIG. I mean 15” ?!?! Really?
I should try to catch it now and return it before it's too late.. Which other one will grow that big as well?

I am monitoring very closely all my params and religiously do WC every week with a good salt mix. So far so good, just my NO3 that still is at around 10/15, despite the WC but at least it is not going higher.

It takes a while for them to get large, kinda like naso's . . . they grow fast to a certain point then slow down considerably till there monsters. Your sailfin will get over a foot when fully grown and the hippo wont be far behind. With weekly water changes you should be in good shape as far as the bio-load is concerned, I personally would look into some microbacter 7 to help your biological filtration catch up to all the new additions, and make sure you have good surface agitation to keep the O2 levels up.
