So i completed my cycle and would like to shoot for 0 nitrates and phosphates. Currently a little over 10ppm, maybe 20ppm... hard to tell. I looked at vodka dosing. Any side effects to this in terms of the health of fish and corals? Since tank completed cycling and I'm in no rush, I would like to get the vodka dosing started as soon as possible.

A little about my 125G. salinity is at 1.024.
    ammonia 0
    nitrite 0
    nitrates 10-20ppm
    BM-150 skimmer
    Mag 18 return pump
sump with the three common compartments.

All i have in the tank is LR, LS, protein skimmer and my sump running. Haven't startedmy fuge yet, still researching how to set it up.

For all users getting 0 nitrates and phosphates, what method are you using?

Does chaeto/mangroves with a DSB in the fuge remove nitrates?

ps: you guys have been helpful since my beginning experience in this hobby. thanks everyone!

Yes, this is all you need to remove the nitrates.
    Do you have any fish?

I have a refugium and good skimmer with weekly water changes. I've had 0 nitrate and 0 phosphates for quite some time now. I would not start something like vodka dosing until your tank gets going more. Your numbers' aren't bad and if done improperly, the vodka dosing can really mess up your tank.

Fug is an easy way to control nitrates. You can use a section of your sump if you don't want to get another tank

My experience is alooot of live rock and a good sized fuge. A skimmer helps also but I think a fuge helps more than skimming in my experience

It seems you are talking more about a cycle rather then nitrate issues. Good rock will have some anaerobic areas for denitrifying bacteria, but a refugium will be much more effective IMO.
