biopellets are even easier then a fuge.

how is a fuge harder than that? You put sand and macro in it and then put a light on it. Out of all the things I've done to my tank my fuge was prob the easiest and best thing I did.

Not only is a fuge not very hard, when stocked properly, it will reduce/remove more than just Nitrates. A fuge will also help to breed copods, amphipods, and even mysis shrimp which are nice free food sources for you tank inhabitants. That's why I'd rather have the fuge.

I think they're right around an even level of difficulty, if not for the potential oxygen issues.

The real advantage of the fuge is that you also get the other populations of organisms like pods, which you don't get from the pellet reactor.

with the pellets the appropiate flow rate(pellets will move around in the filter) doesn't allow it to go anaerobic.
you get some nice bacteria for sps to eat tho.

they probably are about even but the reactor takes up less room alot times.

+1 for fug. Grab a cheap filter and make a DIY fuge in 5 minutes if you don't want to get another pump/tank combo. Nitrates were gone in a day.
