All was good, until yesterday, or so i thought. Now I am trying to piece it all the together and figure out what triggered all the chaos. Newr tank w/ live rock, about 3 months along. I had a small cleanup crew, and a trio of blue Chromis, 1 Clown fish & 1 scooter Blennie. I was still battling thru the brown algae as late as a week and a half ago. I was getting fed up because nothing was getting better, so I dosed a small bit of algae removal once, than one more time 3 days later as per the label. Saw good results. Then shortly after the dosing I lost 1 turbo snail but I didn't think anything of it at the time. Now, about a week later I realized yesterday I'm losing 1 Chromis and possibly a 2nd one. 1st is all but dead and the 2nd is sucking it's lips really fast and it's eyes are kinda bugged! The other 3 fish seem fine as do the other snails and crabs. I did a partial water change yesterday and the salinity maybe got inched up slightly more but not out of range (1.024-25 as opposed to 1.023 normally). Checked amonnia and nitrate levels and they are zero. I did another partial water change(8%) today. Any ideas or thoughts on what I am missing?

Have you made any other recent changes or additions? What algae remover did you dose?

Do you see any sign of injury on the chromis? Torn fins, bloody sores? In my experience with them they seem to kill each other until one is left especially in a small tank.

Which product did you use? was it the red slime remover? Did you add any extra aggition to the surface or the tank? is it well aggitated? I believe some of these products can lower the oxygen in the water. And if the fish seems to be gasping that may be a cause.

Hope they made it I just did the same thing and lost 4 fish after 2 nd day
I realized I did not put extra airstones so I cranced up my maxijet with the air tube connected and saved the rest of my fish and hopefully the corals.

Rest of fish made it ok. I don't really know what happened though to begin with.... I hope the tank stays stable now.
