All white plate coral

    Got home from a weekend long trip and found my plate coral to be noting but a tough white skection. I noticed before i left a little brown to it but did worry about it... Should i toss it or what, dont want it messing up my other coral????

    sounds like it is dead or dying. Is it all the way white? Take it out of the tank and smell it. If it is dead you will note it by the smell. If there is part of it still alive you can frag that part away.

    The skeleton should not hurt the rest of your corals. Whatever was on that coral has probably spread to other pieces already. +1 See if you can salvage a piece.

    I read, that even after dieing.. 3 months from now babys can still develope..
    If it's doing no damage, leave it in your tank.. Sounds strange, I wish I could find where I read it..

    Is there any tissue on the skeleton?
    Seems to me that their is no tissue just the calcareous skeleton below!

    the only thing I am concerned about leaving it in the tank is RTN. Have you added any new corals recently or have any params shift?
