I had a near disaster today. I went down in the basement where my tank is today and noticed water dripping by my tank. My first thought was I had a leak because I couldn't see what was dripping just dripping. Walking over closer I noticed my light, which was running, was soaked and water was dripping down off of this. I opened my cabinet thinking a pump is shooting water up onto my light to find nothing. Finally I came to my senses and looked up. There it was a leak from the ceiling above directly on my running halide fixture. I didn't want to fry any equipment, so I unplugged everything from the wall and ran upstairs to see what was going on. Come to find out it's the waste water from the dishwasher right above.

I left the light off to dry and put a bucket on it to catch anything else that comes down. Hopefully my light will be fine.

After getting it all sorted and thinking about it more I started to realize how close I was to a hobby ending disaster. If I hadn't gone down and noticed it at the least I could of fried my light, if not burnt down the house. Thinking even farther I realize if my light hadn't been there I would of had a couple gallons of soapy water directly into the DT.

I feel lucky now even though I have some plumbing to do:)

No kidding. I would of had to use it as an excuse to upgrade to a 40 breeder. That would of been terrible...wait a second! Where's my drill?!
