    Hey Guys!

Hope everyone is doing well! I just got signed up yesterday and I recieved an email that said I should stop by & say what up to everyone. That's a cool idea, so first off , thanks for having me to the site, it looks great!

Honestly, I probably should have joined the forum a while ago. I don't know if I'm considered a rookie or noob, or if I've made it past that point yet. I've had my tank running for about 3 years now..

I've had a 65 gallon set-up since about 2006, a friend of mine had bought the whole set-up and got it running about 6 years ago, then he got transfered to Maui for work & couldn't take the tank, so he gave it to me. I was very happy about that extremely nice gesture. I know he had put a lot of time & money into having a top-notch set-up.

Even tho I was around from the tanks start at his house, I still feel that I've missed out on the learning process that comes with starting from scratch. However I feel that I've learned alot so far and IMO, I have a healthy tank, however, a long time resident of my tank died recently (a very aggressive V-tailed grouper) and that's opened up a whole new world to be for where I can go with my tank now that I don't have to worry about him attacking & eating anything that goes in the water. He was a total predator that refused to share the tank with almost anything else, but now after 4 years, my tank is peaceful, and I want to go a new direction with it.

I've recently added a few small coral frags (frog spawn & star pollips) and I've monitored the water for the last few weeks. Everything is showing near perfect levels. So I want to start re-populating my tank with a few smaller fish. (I'm looking at just a small clown fish & a flamehawk for now to start simple)And with my new direction, I wanted to have a source to ask questions & get advice so that I can avoid as many mistakes as possible, especially since I'm introducing a little coral to the tank, that's definitly new to me!

Before I wrap it up I do have a questions quick if that's ok..?

Is there any pet peeves that you like the noobs to avoid doing? such as opening new threads about a topic that's been covered in the past? Or even just jumping right in with "help me's"? Some other message boards can be a little touchy about noobs just coming in & posting so I just want to make sure I don't irratate anyone my making some rookie posting mistakes.

Thanks Everyone & I look forward to talking with you guys! Now I'm going to wonder the forums to see if I can get a feel for how things go around here!

    Thanks Again!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Much appreciated! So far I'm really liking what I'm seeing. You guys all have a good vibe on here and everyone seems friendly & helpful!

I'll definitly get some pictures up soon! i just took a few last night. I just might need a little help posting them. One thing I have not mastered is message boards! I'm a tech novice! but I'll post them ASAP, I'd love to read what you guys think of my set-up!

I think i'm going to get my new clown fish tonight after work! I/we had a maroon colored tomato clown for about 5 years that was alot of fun to watch and I'm excited to have one in my tank again! I can't wait!

On that note, Is it a bad idea to get a small anenime for him at the same time or does that not matter? My old clown LOVED his anenime, and I don't want my new little guy feeling homeless? any advice on that? Thanks again guys!

He doesn't need one, but seeing as your tank has been running for some time and that you've kept a 'nem before, why not? Just make sure that your water is stable and your lighting is good.
