Alternating lights

    Hey,

    I have not long set up a hangon fuge - could someone tell me why im putting the light on at night time, i've read that this is what im supposed to do, but i dont know why im doing it.

    It is to help stabilise your PH, your PH will drop overnight and having another light source should keep it from falling too much. That's it really as far as I'm aware.

    Plants uptake CO'2 as food during the dark Hrs and when its daytime they release their waste as oxygen.. So on the reverse lighting the fuges plants give off Oxygen when the fuge is lite and the aquarium is dark and so on and so forth and the Oxygen off sets the CO'2s and keeps the P.H stable and more oxygen when the tank needs its most at night .

    Many seem to never get it :) Like with all the horror stories with the fools who thought that running refugium lights 24/7 is a good idea :) Thats when the problems started with algae going sexaual to save its self from total wipe out from increased stress.. Plants like all living things have been programmed through billions of yrs to work and sleep just like everything else. They eat and the produce waste and unless they can release their waste they die. I still hear people trying to light and run their fuges still 24/7 LOL .
